If your stroke is on plane and the club face is square throughout the stroke, all of your putts will be on line. Master these two essentials of the putting stroke and you will be a better putter.
However the most important component of putting is controlling the distance that the ball rolls. My studies have shown that more 3 putts are caused by poor distance control than poor aim. So if you truly want to become a better putter you have to improve your distance control.
In order to control the distance that your putts roll it is best to swing the putter with a consistent tempo. A consistent tempo means that the backswing is the same length as the follow through.
The S Factor has 4 sets of holes that are equidistant, and it comes with several tees that use kinesthetic feedback to teach you the correct putting stroke tempo.
Regular practice with the S Factor will improve your putting distance control or your money back.
Golf Putting Drill using the S Factor Golf Training Aid
To improve your distance control try this drill using the S Factor
- Place one tee through each hole numbered 1 on the S Factor
- Make 5 practice strokes so that your putter lightly touches each tee
- Hit 5 putts with the tees in place, each ball should roll the exact same distance.
- Repeat this sequence at each of the 4 positions on the S Factor.
Once you are able to roll the ball consistent distances you know that you have a consistent putting stroke tempo. Regular practice of this drill with the S Factor and 3 putts will be a thing of the past, I guarantee it.
